Daniel Sault (He/Him) is an American contemporary composer. He currently resides in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico and works as the band director at Albuquerque High School. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from The University of New Mexico, both in music education. Although he has written for a variety of ensembles, he currently focuses on composing music for wind bands. Daniel's music is heavily inspired by folk melodies, cartoons, legends, and science fiction.
As anyone who has worked with young musicians will tell you, there is a distinct lack of variety in literature for young band musicians. Almost all pieces for beginners are in a major tonality and a duple meter. Bridging this gap is one of Daniel’s compositional missions. As such, he is currently working on a series of pieces to introduce beginning musicians to a variety of tonalities and meters. This project is in addition to producing more advanced literature.
Currently, some of Daniel’s music is available through Ludwig Masters. Sale links are provided in the description of those pieces. Please reach out through the Contact page if you are interested in performing a piece without a sale link.
